Steps to Connect the Domain with System (Namecheap) #
1. Open the Domain Panel in System #
- From the left-hand menu, click on “Sites”.
- On the top of the page, click “Connected Domains”.
- Click the ‘Add Domain’ button to proceed.
2. Select Domain Type #
- Choose the Custom Domain option (not the free domain).
- Enter your Namecheap domain name.
- Click ‘Next’.
3. Select Services #
- Website Hosting will be enabled by default.
- Click ‘Next’ to continue.
4. Choose Faster CDN (Optional) #
- You will be offered a faster CDN service at $5/month.
- If not needed, click “No, Thank You.”
5. Collect DNS Records #
- Wait for the system to generate the necessary DNS records.
- These need to be added to your Namecheap DNS settings.
Separating DNS Records #
DNS Records for Web Hosting #
- The first two records are for hosting.
- The first is an A-type DNS record.
DNS Records for Email Service #
- The last three records are for email services.
- All of them are CNAME records.
You may ignore the email-related records if you’re only connecting the website.
Steps to Add DNS Records in Namecheap #
1. Select Domain #
- Log in to your Namecheap account.
- Go to the Domain List (left sidebar).
- Click the ‘Manage’ button next to your domain.
2. Open DNS Manager #
- Click on the Advanced DNS tab.
- Find the Host Records section.
- Click ‘Add New Record’.
3. Add an A-Type Record (for Web Hosting) #
- Host: @
- Value / Points To: 185.93.1.243
- Leave other fields as default.
- Click ‘Add Record’ to save.
4. Add CNAME Records (for Email Service) #
- Repeat the process for each CNAME record provided by System.
Example:
- Type: CNAME
- Host: em3206
- Value / Points To: u22813504.wl005.sendgrid.net
- Set TTL to default or 1 hour if required.
5. Check Your Nameservers #
- In the Domain List, click ‘Manage’ next to your domain.
- Scroll to the Nameservers section.
- Ensure it is set to either:
- Namecheap BasicDNS, or
- Namecheap Web Hosting DNS
- Namecheap BasicDNS, or
If it’s using third-party nameservers (like Cloudflare or others), DNS changes must be done there.
Setting Up Email Forwarding (Optional) #
If you’d like to forward emails using Namecheap:
- Log in to your Namecheap dashboard.
- Navigate to Domain List → Click ‘Manage’.
- Go to the Advanced DNS tab.
- Scroll down to the Mail Settings section.
- Choose Email Forwarding.
- Click ‘Add Forward’:
- Forward From: e.g., info@yourdomain.com
- Forward To: your destination email (e.g., youremail@gmail.com)
- Forward From: e.g., info@yourdomain.com
- Click ‘Save Changes’.
You can forward to multiple addresses by separating them with commas.
