Steps to Connect the Domain with System (SiteGround) #
1. Open the Domain Panel #
- Click on “Sites” in the left-hand menu.
- At the top of the page, click “Connected Domains.”
- Then, click on the ‘Add Domain’ button.
2. Select Domain Type #
- Choose between a free domain or a custom domain.
- Select the custom domain option and enter your domain name.
- Click ‘Next’.
3. Select Services #
- By default, Website Hosting will be enabled.
When to Use Email Sending: #
- If you also need email service, check the second box and enter your email address.
- Enabling email services will not affect your current email setup.
- Click ‘Next’.
4. Choose a Faster CDN (Optional) #
- You will be offered the option to enable a faster CDN for $5/month.
- If you don’t need it, click “No, Thank You.”
5. Collect DNS Records #
- Wait a few moments for the system to generate the required DNS records.
- These records need to be added to your SiteGround account.
Separating DNS Records #
DNS Records for Web Hosting #
- The first two DNS records are for web hosting.
- The first one is an A-type record.
DNS Records for Email Service #
- The last three records are for email services.
- All of these are CNAME records.
If you only need one service (hosting or email), you may ignore the other records.
Steps to Add DNS Records in SiteGround #
1. Select Domain #
- Log in to your SiteGround account.
- Click on the ‘WEBSITES’ button at the top.
- Find your domain and click on ‘SITE TOOLS’ for that domain.
2. Open DNS Zone Editor #
- In the left sidebar, under the ‘DOMAIN’ section, click ‘DNS Zone Editor’.
3. Add Records #
A-Type Record #
- Name: ericdomain.com (replace with your actual domain name)
- IPv4 Address: 185.93.1.243
- TTL: 24 Hours
- Leave other fields as default.
- Click ‘Create’ to save the record.
CNAME Record #
- Name: em3206
- Resolves To: u22813504.wl005.sendgrid.net
- TTL: 24 Hours
- Click ‘Create’ to save.
