Steps to Connect the Domain with System (Ionos) #
1. Open the Domain Panel #
- Click on “Sites” in the left-hand menu.
- At the top of the page, click “Connected Domains.”
- Click on the ‘Add Domain’ button.
2. Select Domain Type #
- Choose between a free domain or a custom domain.
- Select the custom domain and enter your domain name.
- Click ‘Next’.
3. Select Services #
- Website Hosting is enabled by default.
When to Use Email Sending: #
- If you need email services, check the second box and enter your email address.
- Enabling email services will not interfere with your existing email setup.
- Click ‘Next’.
4. Choose a Faster CDN (Optional) #
- You’ll be offered a faster CDN for $5/month.
- If not needed, click “No, Thank You.”
5. Collect DNS Records #
- Wait a few moments for the system to generate the necessary DNS records.
- These records need to be added to your Ionos account.
Separating DNS Records #
DNS Records for Web Hosting #
- The first two records are for hosting.
- The first is an A-type DNS record.
DNS Records for Email Service #
- The last three records are for email services.
- All of these are CNAME records.
If you only need one service (hosting or email), you can skip the other’s records.
Steps to Add DNS Records in Ionos #
1. Select Domain #
- Log in to your Ionos account.
- Click the gear icon next to your domain.
- Then, click on ‘DNS’.
2. Add a Record #
- Click on ‘Add Record’.
3. Add an A-Type Record #
- Choose ‘A’ as the record type.
Fill in the details as follows: #
- Host Name: @
- Points To: 185.93.1.243
- TTL: 1 hour
- Leave other settings as default.
- Click ‘Add Record’ to save.
4. Add a CNAME Record #
- Repeat the same steps, but this time choose ‘CNAME’ as the record type.
Fill in the details as follows: #
- Host Record: em3206
- Points To: u22813504.wl005.sendgrid.net
- TTL: 4 hours
- Click ‘Add Record’ to save.
